and when did version 8 come out? it certainly wasn't when a lot of us bought the i3 on release in september '05. might phone them anyway to clarify dates...

It hasn't come out as a seperate release "yet" ..... its only available on new I3s preloaded .... looking at their site its the last day of this month? |

You can easily tell what version it is by looking at the bottom of the box. See the other hot thread on I3 for info on free upgrade by Garmin from v7 to v8. |

Thanks for the info guys i bought one on ebay for 150 pounds the box isnt in english but it has software version 2.7 and city select europe nt v7 maps.. I have updated my points of interest thanksfor the link (does it update monthly?) and i have downloaded the splash screen now ,
THe box is in german and says version 8 on it is this ver 8 maps or have i a ver 8 box with ver 7 maps?
also what do i do to resize the .bmp etc for the splashscreen thanks

I've just joined the Sat/Nav set with the Garmin i3 for £120, and I must say that I'm very impressed with the way that the technology has come on in leaps and bounds. I've loaded on the camera data base from this site and am even more impressed with the sophisticated warnings that are given.
Anyway, my question is, "Can a stored map point (Favourite) be exported from the Garmin to a PC, or can the E-N map reference be displayed?". I have details of a couple of mobile camera sites that aren't on the database. Fixing the postion from the Garmin would be easier and more accurate than using an Ordenance Survey map. |

The i3 seems to provide all that anyone would want at a reasonable price - I wonder what people are getting when they spend £600-£700 on a satnav? |

someone asked this on another thread and someone said a program called easygps.
see if that helps exporting your fav`s |
