Not when the on-screen warning flashes up the 60% trigger speed instead of the actual speed limit!
We can't customise our alert trigger speeds because TomTom don't allow it or were you talking about previous versions of Navcore and TT's own database?
And why do we have to try and be fair? They're a corporate business charging for an inferior service! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Evening All
I have installed the database as Mike suggested but it made no difference ( I ran a demo) if I knew I would get warnings saying 25 when the limit is 40 I might have bought a Garmin.
I will buy the download of cameras from here and hope that I then get an adult warming of the correct speed not what I consider to be a childish 25 in a 40 19 in a 30 etc etc..
Im afraid if I am in a strange area and a warning is triggered I want to know what speed the camera is going to flash me not 60% of the speed.
Thanks for all the help guys |

If you use our speedzoned database and one of our voice alerts you will get "Warning speed camera, speedlimit xx miles per hour" _________________ Darren Griffin |

AT LAST!!!!!!!!
Tomtom has responded with an apology and the correct way to fix my Tomtom..
It should show speed cameras at the correct speed BUT only sound an aural warning if traveling over 60% of the speed limit....This is after I called the helpline and some clown told me it was working as advertised.
I emailed them again telling them I think the system of showing a speed camera at 60% is totally stupid as if I look up and see 19, or some other stupid number it makes me slam on my brakes which is a road safety hazard.
At last someone at Tomtom knows what they are talking about, I have run a DEMO and it appears to be ok |

Quote: | This is Jamie with Tom Tom Customer Support UK. Firstly may I apologise for the inconvenience caused by this issue which I understand pertains to the fact the camera alerts show the incorrect speed. Secondly, I have to address the fact that a previous agent has misinformed regarding the feature; it should show the correct speed as in 60 mph shows as 60 mph! To clarify the audio alert warns you when you are travelling faster than 60 percent of the speed limit.
No amount of resets and reinstallation of the cameras will resolve this as the fault is caused by the current Tom Tom application software. I have consulted our 2nd line technical department regarding this issue and following their advice they have suggested that the best way forward for the time being is to revert back to the previous application. This issue has been reported to our developers and a new application should fix the bug.
I can only authorise a replacement if we have determined there is a hardware fault with your device as software issues are resolvable and the device, apart from this problem, should be functioning, navigating and alerting you correctly.
To roll back the application, please carry out the following steps:
- Connect your device to the PC
- In Tom Tom Home select 'Manage my Go' on page 2 of the main menu.
- Under items on device select the application and remove from device
- Under items on computer select applications and remove from the computer
- Click on Update my Go
- Select the application... click update and install.
- After installation.... disconnect the device from the PC.
Now test the Safety alerts so we can determine whether this has resolved the speed inaccuracy. Thank you for your time regarding this matter. |

swindonseagull.... I think Mike means you!
It would be useful to know what software you were running BEFORE you rolled back too. |

Swindonseagull said earlier that the software was 9.022 and I think that is the problem as that is a very old version for the x50 which had this fault which I seem to remember being fixed in V9.026 or similar. I certainly experienced this fault a long time ago. _________________ Drivelux |
