I would guess that the corrections you've seen was in fact a Tele Atlas update rather than a result of MapShare, but the main thing should be that it has been corrected. The Tele Atlas Map Insight site is, just like kichu1979 said, using the old Multinet version. I just spotted a map correction in the v715 map that I submitted in early December. The error is visible in Multinet 2007.07 so I presume that Tele Atlas recevied the information before I did...

Take the WCE map as example. Anybody notice any improvement?

Is this essentially the same map that was used in the Beta test?

That depends on the country you are in. I have TeleAtlas Multinet 2007.10 datasheet with detailed coverage details on all WCE countries and comparision to 2007.7 and while some countries improved a lot
(for example Slovakia went from 30% road network coverage to 100%),
some other are just few percent updates of home address coverage or
few hundred of kilometres roads added.

Please let me know what countries you are interested in and I will write down the numbers.

What is the coverage for Croatia, Slovenia and the other Balkan countries.

Coratia - 43% street network (23 fullt atributed, rest basic) + 100% of major roads network and interconnecting network

Slovenia - 32% street network (32% fully attributes) + 100% of major roads network and interconnecting network

Major + interconnecting roads coverage means in reality that you will be able to drive betweeb any towns and cities inside any country, but there might be roads inside the town/city missing. For example few years ago when Poland had only major + interconnecting roads coverage, the only roads inside my city that showed on the map was those that were part of official country road network (with numbers etc.).

the other balkan countries are included as connector network only (major roads)

Thanks Kichu.

I assume this data is in the Eastern Europe map and not in the W&C Europe map, except for major connecting roads...

The data I told you is a reference information from TeleAtlas concerning their 2007.10 map release.

The direct representation of TeleAtlas Europe map would be TomTom WCE release. It's actually the same map data repackaged for TomTom format.

On the other hands TomTom WE/EE and other (Alps etc.) maps are just sort of extractions of smaller parts of data from the big map. They take 2 or 3
countries out of a big map, and repackage it into smaller map.

Sorry, no. I only have PDF for Europe. But if you are interested email TeleAtlas and ask for that document. That's how I received Europe PDF.

I think I've found a couple of new changes on the v715 map - speed limits! The A422 between Brackley & Buckingham, and parts (though not all) of the M5 south of Bristol have an accurate speed limit now.

The "new" causeway/bridge over to the Isle of Sheppey and its associated new roundabout is on v715 but not on v710.
Also I've noticed a few stupid routings off the main road around a roundabout and back on the main carriageway have been sorted out.

Are you sure it's Western Europe?

Most likely UK and the Republic of Ireland.

I hope I'm wrong, and if it is MWE then grab it, as it's about half price. Smile
