My appologies to anyone who has attached some sort of deviant innuendo to my use of the expression 'Private Headers' But that's what Zone Alarm call them, whatever they are. Very Happy

Rolling Eyes Have fixed by toggling "TLS" to on in I/E advanced/security settings.

Being curious turned off and reopened, but compass still there.
(TLS stands for Transport Layer Security)

Thanks to all for input.

That may be because now it has downloaded the graphic once it'll reload it from your browser cache. Try leaving TLS to Off, deleting all the Internet Temporary Files and then try the page again.

This is just one reason i don't bother with software firewalls. Too many options and nonsensical settings.

I was confused like peasmore until I realised that I was re-loading a cached version of the base page. I think the cam icons appear and dissapear with the setting is that the map is ALWAYS refreshed from the pgpsw server when you move it.

quick google for zonealarm private headers:

http://www.abelard.org/technology/red_x.php

seems like your stuck with it.... according to the 2nd link it's an ver-the-top thing to persuade you to use zonealarm pro!

still, not too sure why it only affects the heading image...

MaFt
Thanks for the links. I had already found the first one, but the second was really interesting (Geek or what??) It also explained another of my problems, the red cross. This also ties in with BFG's? 'referrer' setting in his firewall.
I don't think that ZA are deliberately trying to scare people, but possibly believe in the age old addage of 'what the Censored has it got to do with you where I came from?' as it appears that it is not only ZA that give you the option of switching off the referrer.

PS. Switching them off also prevent the display of the camera icons on the main map, regardless of how far you zoom in. So switching on 'private headers' or 'referrer' is a fix for that too.
