Hi Richard,
Firstly thanks for a great product!
Just a quick question. I used the software on my PC (Win XP) to retrieve the latest traffic info (worked fine). I then copied the two files into my TomTom Mobile version 5 GB Map folder (running on a Nokia 6630). I was able to view the traffic info (after enabling the POI) on my map. However, I noticed that the audio instructions were affected whilst navigating a route. The audio was noticably broken and stuttering.
I then deleted the two files previously copied and tried it again, this time the audio worked fine.
Do you know what may be causing this? Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks |

Yes I also noticed this. At first I thought it was my Nokia 9300 being a bit "processor slow" (I haven't had it with TomTom long and hadn't tested a guided route) but then I noticed it was also slow to pickup movement away from lights and other stationary positions which it hadn't been before.
I then switched off the Traffic POI option and it returned to normal.
I'm not sure if it is a "load" issue with the amount of data in the POI file or a different problem. _________________ - spacerace - |

TomTom 5 ran poorly on my Dell Axim X3 300Mhz, I have an X30 now running at 624, does the job nicely.
Anyway my point is a Nokia whatever will only be running at 100-200Mhz right? Even if it is an ultra efficient OS that's not enough for TomTom IMO.
Perhaps switching to the 2D view to reduce some load would help? Switch off all other POIs other than traffic info. Remove road names and reduce detail on the maps in the options? Get a PDA?? |

TomTom itself runs fine, it's when I load the Offline Traffic .OV2 file that it slows down. _________________ - spacerace - |

Hi Richard, great piece of software, I cannot sync my Laptop to the path on my pocket PC. If I go to "options" and tick the box "Automatically syncronize map overlay", it will not allow me to enter a Folder path to my Pocket PC. I have tried restarting everything and reloading the software, but nothing works?? I hope you can give me a clue on this. All other syncronization works with my HP iPAQ 2210 |

I had a similar issue with my 2210 but I could see the folder structure but it just woldn,t update.
After upgrading Activesync to version 3.8.0 the problem disappeared

Running V.04 (is that the latest?)
Something for the wishlist
I have noticed that when I take my ppc off of the cradle so that I can use it and during that period OTN decides to retrieve feeds, it will stay in retrieve feed mode even though it has actually done the retrieval.
It will only go back to "standby" mode once the ppc has been redocked - obviously it is waiting to write the new file to the ppc that isn't there and thus stopping subsequent updates from being carried out
I don't really want to have to keep stopping and starting OTN every tme the pppc is undocked. Is there a way for OTN to sense if the PPC is docked or not and so skip the writing of the new file is it isn't docked?
That way OTN is up to date and when the ppc is finally docked the latest file could be immediatley loaded onto the ppc.

Version 0.6 now available from http://www.delphi-dolphin.com/downloads/OfflineTrafficNewsSetup.zip. Improvements include:
• OV2 file is no longer written if travel feed not retrieved.
• Updated notification window so it no longer steals focus.
• Updated proxy to default to IE settings.
• Updated Pocket PC connection.
• OTN no longer stays in retrieval mode if Pocket PC not docked. |

I haven't read through all 12 pages, but, this is a reasonably good idea...if only the BBC travel reports were guaranteed to be up to date. I will not phone BBC Solent anymore regarding their crap travel updates....so frustrating at times. |

Hi Richard
Thanks for this software. I'm running v0.3 on my PalmOne Treo 650, with Navigator v5.12.
The only icons it comes up with seem to be a red triangle with an exclamation mark in it. When I highlight the icon there is a short description of the problem.
I don't see any arrows on the route only the above mention icons.
I have to manually transfer the files across as activesync doesn't work on palms.
Thanks again.

GPSPASSION mentioned the following french detail previously (no latitude/longitude unfortunately):
http://www.sytadin.tm.fr/tempsreel/detail.txt
I am thinking about adding support for plugins, however the number of viable feeds for other countries appears to be quite low. |
