Is this a spike in the numbers because the submission page has been updated, or are you getting the normal level of submissions?
(By the way, the page is looking good!!) _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Don't know if it is because of the page update (I suspect it is now that the Postcode Find is working ), but yes, it has been higher than usual. _________________ Richard

Looking great so far!
I can't see any way, on the submission page, to search for a POI nearby.
E.g. if I am adding a POI for a branch of a chain of stores, and I ascertain the location from the chains branch locator and StreetView, and I can't see a POI already there, I'd like to be able to check if a wrongly placed POI for this branch exists, so I can submit a change to it, rather than add a new POI. _________________ Jock

It's not something that has been available in the past, and I don't know if the code monkeys would be able to implement it.
There would need to be some data input to know what to look for. Then a question of how far would the Search radius need to be.
That's for starters. _________________ Richard

So, something to show the distance to the nearest POI in the currently selected category?
That would be do-able but would take a while to sort it. I'll mark it as a job for Techno-Thursday (as it has come to be called!)

I'm thinking similar to the lower-left table in the admin page. But it'd need to be more dynamic and update whenever the cat/sub-cat were changed in the form.

The input would be selecting the required subcategory in the form. Search radius could be limited to, say, 1 mile [2mile diameter] (I doubt a POI would be *that* far out of place? Even if it was then it'd be subject to a removal I'd have thought) and the closest 5 POIs in that subcat.
I'll have a think about how to implement it. @Jock - I may drop you an email to do some testing for me later

The 'original' was OK. _________________ Richard

Grr. I put 3 miles to begin with but then thought "no, that's too big" and changed it to 1...

Re Google will soon be stopping supporting the now older 'v2' maps
My TT one (V4 4N00.005) uses these, how will I be affected, I'm not too techy on sat navs, but this is the how I download the speed cam file and POI, how will I need to do it post change |

I think you're confused. The v2 maps API is a set of code and commands that web-developers can use to show maps on websites. They have nothing to do with your SatNav or how you use them :D

Thanks MaFt, I don't mind being confused on this occasion, it seems I was confusing it with the tomtom OV2 files for the speed cams, and knowing typos exist in every forum thought it best to check. |
