Blimey, what a fast response, thank u.
Used Express to reload the map, took 19 minutes (yesterday 47) and now it works fine. My memory, or lack of it has returned to 338mb free (totally ignoring the SD card).
Just need somebody to crack the Garmin so we can get rid of the pesky knives & forks, £ etc. Seems one must always have three things in the 'up ahead' settings. |

Garmin Express does give the options! I have a 760 so have had capacity problems for several years. The answer is to install the map on PC ONLY and then to use MapInstall to transfer exactly the area that you want to the device. I find that none of the suggested subsets of the full map fulfil my needs.
The option for PC ONLY does not appear until Express realises that thereis not enough room. |

That really isn't the answer as MapInstall only installs the map from PC to GPS. Fine perhaps for older GPS but for recent ones with junction views, voice recognition etc you need to use Express to install to your GPS, or a clone from which you can then copy all the files required, not just the map ones |
