MyTomTom offered new Navigator software for my 1005
Version 10.111 I think @ 64Mb which it is now installing....
Perhaps you need this before the new maps?

After downloading the maps, using the method I mentioned above, I was told there was an update, which turned out to be Version 10.111. Same thing happened with that download, started then stopped and at to use the same proceedure as I did to get the maps. Hopefully this download will cure the download problem. Having said that, all downloads before the maps worked fine. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

My 1005 now has map Europe v865.3243.
A very slow process...
Download took about 35 minutes but to transfer to device another 80 minutes!
Also soon after the transfer start to my TT it rebooted with the desktop app then complaining connection had been lost.
My 1050 then said on its screen "no map" but after a while the transfer started again.
I guess the reboot is normal to delete the old maps?
I don't think it has lost any of my settings...
BTW, Device shows transfer process time in minutes and desktop app has it hours and mins.

Just done mine, the exact same thing happened but allappears to be ok.
Guess it just wouldn't be TomTom if it all went smoothly.
Well thats another thing working |

Well, I was delighted when I saw the map was available, but...
saw the update, started downloaded, got it all down, and now it seems I have no map on the tt1000, and something is downloading again, taking a v. long time.
Demonstrates the biggest flaw in the new tt system, I can't download the maps, and then update, it's all one process, so if a bit fails.........
I'm hoping that as above it sorts itself out in time. |

My installation of the UK map v865 was not without incident for SN starting TA....
Downloaded in about 10-15 minutes using work connection, Go Live 1000 said updating and to leave connected.....waited 75 minutes or so (having seen Hummer UK's previous post) and then decided to call TomTom support.
Lady in UK was helpful and said it was taking longer than it should, referred the matter to 2nd line support who agreed it should have updated by now but to leave it for a further hour just in case.
Unfortunately patience was never a virtue with me and after 10 minutes I reset my device and cleared mytomtom from the task manager. Upon rebooting map v865 had been installed and this is the biggest problem with the mytomtom interface in that you have no idea what it's doing but it looks like it's installed. |

I think you can download the map and then connect the device to transfer the data.
You just have to let the TT Home app load the TomTom webpage and then click on download.

Mine was done in less than 20 mins but I did do it this afternoon, before the vast majority of the UK workforce got home and checked the forum and MyTomTom.

Thanks Hummer I didn't realise that, I thought they had to be connected up for the download to happen at all.
However, the download it self appears to have happened, but nearly 2 hours later and after a few false starts it's telling me to keep my device connected and that in 78mins it'll all be alright.
I live in hope! (though I may yet reboot it all and see what the status is).
I have to say I continue to like the device, but the interface (with pc) is not it's best feature |
