I got my Map Update card today, and using Topcashback got 90p back!

I will wait until after the next map comes out before I activate the code.

Are the map updates still njot working for 10xx then? I thought somebody said they were now working, so if you wait until next new map, you'll be outside 90 days??

I have the latest map under the LMG which now works for all the new models.

Just that I don't see any point activating a 24 month code when there is no new map yet, but I think have to activate within 3 months of purchase of TomTom.

And you can now buy 12 months of Map Updates + 6 Months Free (18 total) for £19.95 online via TomTom website for the TomTom Go 1000 (UK) which seems a bargain too

As per the above, TomTom have now said that these cards are compatible with the latest devices. Sure enough the option to enter the code is now available on the website and it correctly acknowledges the ability to enter the code related to my device and serial number. [/snip]

Where is this on the website, I can't find it.

The ability to enter codes?

It's under MyTomTom in Home... Activate Code.

if you are logged in to your account, click on the green MyTomTom on the website Menu bar.

I click the green button and get a screen that tells me to select my device, I select Go 1005 and get taken to a screen whic says:
Quote:

Getting started - Download the MyTomTom support application
MyTomTom is a brand new platform that allows you to make the most out of your TomTom device.

In order to activate your TomTom Service, you need to get started with MyTomTom. Please either install the MyTomTom application first or start the MyTomTom application. If you have installed it but it is not running.
MyTomTom will recognize your navigation device and inform you about important updates in the future.

but my Tomtom is already running, and has recognised my device, there is no box to enter an activation code.

Strange....When I click the green button it tells me I am logged in,
and there are four options :-
Overview
Check for new items
Account details
Activate code

The main web page already shows my device type displayed below the menu, so it makes no sense that you get asked to select your device?.

Well, I got past that hurdle... The Tomtom web server does not work properly with Opera browser, changing to IE gave the activation box, but entering the code gives the message:

Quote:
The activation code you have entered is not valid anymore, due to exceeding the 90 day limit from the first date of use.

Now to test Tomtom support...

I had a pleasant conversation with Tomtom support and the situation is that the 24 moth cards are not supported for these devices yet, but they will be honoured when the systems are sorted out.

In the meantime they want a scanned image of the card so they can verify it for a manual activation of the service for my device at a later date.

Earlier posts in this thread indicate that the service appeared to be working for devices less than 90 days old, but TT support are not confident that the services are being activated properly until the software is fixed (I couldn't deduce whether this requires a device or server software update or both).

I presume this is an image of the card after the scratchcode is revealed?

There was a new Home update today.

I now have version 3.02.286

Maybe this has fixed something?

I presume so...

The problem is only with devices that use My Tomtom, so an update to Home is not going to help.
