I drove from Rochester via Watford and Kenilworth to Chesterfield yesterday afternoon. Going throough the Dartford Tunnel my 940 retained satellite connection right the way through (it hasn't done that before as far as I can remember) and also Traffic showed the 'countdown' to the next incident right the way through i.e. 2.9, 2.8, 2.7 miles etc.
Better still, it didn't lose Traffic at all, not once, during the entire journey - a great improvement for which I am very grateful. |

That's due to the EPT (Enhanced Positioning Technology) which is a solid state gyro sensor, fitted in the 940. That allows it to continue to estimate speed when you lose signal such as in a tunnel. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the explanation however it's never done it before. Whatever the reason, after emerging from the tunnel my 940 now continues to show Traffic info. |

If EPT is in operation, you should see a little icon in the bottom left of the screen. There's a picture of it on page 15 of the quick user manual). _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Whilst I can ses them installing dedicated GSM antennas, or more simply leaky feeders in the tunnel, it'd be nigh on impossible to install a GPS Re-radiator system. Any system could only report the position of its single outside antenna. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Can't say I noticed Andy but it's a 400 mile round trip to check so I think I'll wait until I'm next due that way. |
