The service you get via LIVE on the PND is exactly what was advertised and has not changed. The cost disparity between iPhone and PND has been explained.
There is a huge difference between offering access to iPhone users and offering it to anyone with a connected BT phone with data and a TT PND. Support etc would be a nightmare as it was with PLUS.
Perhaps TT are testing the water but who knows. Either way, personally I've never considered PLUS or LIVE worth the subscription costs and I certainly won't be subscribing on my iPhone as IME, HD Traffic is rubbish more often than not and can't be trusted. |
I agree with some of your reasoning, but whatever I was happy to pay or put up with in terms of poor service in the past has to be looked at differently now. I'll just have to hope an Android version is on the horizon so I will be able to get some of this (IMO) preferential treatment! Just don't dare offer those same iPhone users a cheaper verion of the PGPSWorld speed cameras! |

so what? do you hear my 2 oldest brothers moaning about it? they're both on vodafone so are providing the information to vodafone and thus to the hd traffic data. one has an old tomtom one, the other uses copilot on his android - neither of them benefit but yet YOU are milking THEIR data without even saying thanks to them! how inconsiderate is that?!

Guys, remember, its not JUST the Vodafone sim card data that provides HD traffic. It (Vodafone sim card movements) is just a small cog in a large wheel. _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

what on earth is your issue with iphone users?! you clearly have a grudge against something...

1) they actually pay more as they have to buy the app in the first place
2) if pocketgpsworld.com decide to do an offer on their own data then why is that a problem? do you complain that tomtom offer free live services for a year when you buy a new live device? if not then why not? "how DARE they give a group of people a special offer"
rant over

It was actually supposed to be a tongue in cheek remark - my wife has an iPhone and I wouldn't begrudge her anything (within reason)! |

considering the ranting nature of the rest of your posts it wasn't entirely clear that it was 'tongue in cheek'... |

Sorry for the misunderstanding - ranting they may appear, but I have been loyal to TT for many years and think my points raised are not that unreasonable - I have only ever posted here before if the service was down - I don't rant very often! |
