Thanks for all the help everyone.
I connected my TomTom this afternoon to have a go at removing all the "loose files" as recommended.
And what do you know, before I got a chance to do anything, Home connected and offered my the latest application (and a Kate voice update and a QuickGPS fix download).
So I've just downloaded the lot and am now running with the latest version.
I reckon that perhaps TomTom turned off their update servers over Christmas Eve/Day while there was no support around?
Cheers. |

Kate voice update - interesting ....
Can you do me a favour and locate your HOME download folder - if you are on a PC it will be My Documents\TomTom\HOME\download\complete\voice folder.
In there is another folder, probably with Kate in the name of it. In that folder there will be a file called ????.toc - can you open this file with Wordpad and locate the line that begins
Code: | <url location="http://download.tomtom.com |
in the download section and paste what the full URL is for the updated Kate voice.
Thanks |

Thanks for that - the same voice as the x40s then - odd that the x50s are shipping with voices on them that are almost a couple of years old (x30 voices) |
