The 940 mount is considerably better than the x30 mount for a number of reasons:
Device attaches with a physical lock action
Mount can remain powered/ connected making it easier to bury wiring thus hiding it all behind the trim in the car.
The Live HD Traffic negates the need for the RDS-TMC receiver and is associated spaghetti aerial strewn across the dash and provides a much neater install with better reception and accuracy of data.
All the other bells and whistles such as FM Tx, mp3 player etc remain the same between the two devices. The x30 range offers a great device but the 940 is a better unit in my opinion and as its a newer device it will be supported with updates for longer than the 730 you are considering. Both x30 and x40 devices will continue to get new maps but I don't expect to see much in way of new Navcore packed with new capability and features for the older model - Mike |

I love my 730T & once you bury the RDS cable under the trim & the power cable you can hardly see them. RDS traffic is free & has worked well for me on many journeys, can't fault it. I got a adjustable mount on ebay for £6 & it's solid not the gooseneck rubbish but never had a problem with the TT mount ever I just wanted a longer reach mount.
Have you made the right decision ??

Well, it's made now! Most of us love the device we made the decision to buy. So, my GO730T has cables strewn all across the dashboard shelf. It does the job for me, equally I love my ONE IQ Routes edition, but had I bought the 930 (940) then I'm sure I would have been more than happy. No good looking back...At least all the right questions were asked first _________________ Gee-Pee

This system requires no extra aerials or wires as its all built in to the 940 BUT there is a monthly charge (subscription) to use this service on top of the cost to purchase the device - Mike |
Ah... didn't know that. Thanks. (It's not a model I have, I was just interested to know.0 _________________ Tom Tom 1005 v2 World, Garmin Dakota 20, IPhone 4S |
