Rather than delete the thread entirely, we've chosen to re-write the news item and the opening post to show this 'study' in its true light.
I think most of us can draw our own conclusions from the review. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I must agree, I had a somewhat cynical snigger after running through the "study" but when I went looking for better information I found very little. Even here on PGPSW there is remarkably little information on nDrive, it took a fair amount of effort to find that if I wanted to use the Speed Camera Database (a major issue for me) it looks as if I would have to use one of the other GPS makes kml data files or translate an ov2 for import onto nDrive and I still don't know how well it would work.
So I am very interested in your opinion that for all the dodgy marketing it seems a reasonable bit of kit perhaps worth considering for my wife. Can you point me in the direction of better information regarding its performance please?
Also Halfords seem to be the only people in the UK with a stock of the newer models of nDrive PND's (this may change as Xmas gets nearer but a visit to the nDrive website seems to expose supply problems for people wanting to buy direct). _________________ Samsung Galaxy S8

We haven't reviewed an NDrive PND but we have looked at their iPhone software which is almost identical.
The basic software is OK if not ground breaking but the aerial photography makes navigation harder in my opinion and adds too much info to the display.
Whilst it may be good for pedestrian use it just doesn't work in normal driving use.
As it is this oblique aerial imagery which is their USP, I couldn't commend it for driving usage.
As a guide for tourists on a phone in London, Paris etc then it works well.
We are working on a .kml file for NDrive. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Their PND with built in alcohol meter looks quite fun
Any idea how long the .kml will take? _________________ Samsung Galaxy S8
