When I go into 'Show contents' it says the application is 8.351 but the device says it has version 7 when I tap the screen etc. |

Do you have an SD card inserted? Could you be looking at two separate installs? One on the SD card and the other on internal memory? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes but if you have the application installed on the SD card AND internal memory it will default to booting from the card.
Remove the card, reboot and test. Report back what version is then shown on the status screen. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Remove the SD card and then see what version you have got installed, you won't be the first to have fallen foul of the poor TomTom Home interface when updating a device, its far too easy to not realise where the application is going to be put - Mike |

Getting there guys. Removed the sd card. I am now on V8.351. The computer voices are working now. I don't have the option to type a voice command like I used to for a POI but it has a record function that does work. Has this changed?
What do I now do about my SD card with the US map? ( Having said that - I never use it anyway ). |

Backup the SD card and then copy back 'only' the US map folder and its contents.
That will ensure your device uses the app in internal memory even with an SD card inserted. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Many thanks.
Has the voice command changed then? ie I used to type something like 'camera 40' and assign the type to a POI. That facility seems to have disappeared?
I also assume that having taken my old favourites over as a poi file ov2 then I need to rest them into the favourites folder if I want to access them the way I used to.
As usual you guys have been excellent and I thank you kindly. |

No! Your favourites.ov2 file goes in the map folder and you access them as with any other poi category. _________________ David |

I think you still have a problem outstanding where you cannot type in your own warnings?
Assuming that you have a TTS/computer voice selected, it should still be there - you may find a Reset AND a "Return to factory settings" will get it back again. I remember needing to do this a few times when there were odd problems with TTS voices.
With a return to factory settings you'll lose all your POI warning settings yet again though! |

Thanks but this just seemed to right itself so I am back to 'normal'. Not sure how it happened but it did. Cheers. The voices actually sem quiter now, even when on full volume. |
