Any help???? |
Is that files in the map folder only? I'm assuming you took the EXPLORER backup after we asked you to earlier so it should (if all files and folders were switched to viewable) be identical to the folder on your device? _________________ Darren Griffin |

AHA!
The EXPORER BACKup above is the old one.
Just checked again
Explorer back up 9th Feb = 76 files.
does that help - there is an extra file in the backup but don't know what.
FIGURES ARE FOR THE MAP FOLDER ONLY. |

Could be key. You need to compare the actual contents of this folder with the contents of your map folder on the 710 now and see which one you have in the backup that you do not have on the 710.
When you have located it, post back here and tell us which one it is? _________________ Darren Griffin |

the extra file on the backup is called thumbs.
I think it is something to do with an image viewing program I have.
Any other ideas? |

Not really. The only thing left I can suggest is you copy over the entire map folder that was backed up via HOME. Do this manually rather than via HOME.
If that fails then I'm afraid you're out of luck and there is little option other than a new map or a new device! _________________ Darren Griffin |

OK
Will give copying the HOME backup of the map folder over to the TomTom a go.
All this due to a bloody update!
You would not believe it. |

Just a quick note on this (I am most probably barking up the wrong tree).
From the details given the software is 7.162 and Maps 815 do these work together on the 710, I have 910 and was told that 815 maps would not work on software 7.162. _________________ Regards

OK
copied across the map folder from the backup.
Still the same problem.
NO Maps Found.
Anyone else got an idea as this is really getting me to the point of hammering the bloody thing. |

Map 815.2003 has never been supplied by tomtom for a GO710.
Conclusion: bought off ebay with pirate map and dodgy software to read pirate map. Upgrade has removed dodgy software. Pirate map no longer works.
Fix: buy legal map from tomtom.
Sadly it looks like you have been conned. _________________ Paul |

I maintain there are NO hidden files or folders on a TomTom. |
