I did think the point on map usually resolved the problem. However, another workaround is to set each waypoint (or at least those which TT avoids) as a destination and replan to the next once you reach it. Not ideal. I agree and, although I can see the point Andy makes, I agree the whole point of an itinerary is that you want to travel via that point. The 'go close to' planning could remain incorporated in the Navigation screen under 'find alternative' 'travel via' - about as much chance of that happening as the old compass returning.
