Warning to all x20 users - the 8.15 map is useless to you.
You will need to upgrade to Navcore 8.300 which is full of bugs - voice stutter and slow (2 secs) map refresh.
Stay on Navcore 8.010 and 8.10 maps until TT fix the navcore issues.
If you really cannot wait then install TTS7 voices which will fix the stuttering - no cure for the map refresh yet other than running x40 Navcore and then you can't use any PLUS services as you won't be able to get your username to authenticate over GPRS.

Hi Andy,
Are these problems evident with 8.300 alone, or 8.300 used with 815 maps?

I know a lot of people are reporting problems with x20 series devices running App 8.300 and Map: 'UK&ROI' v815.2003, but I've not got lag, stuttering or any of the other symptoms.
I guess I must be lucky, but is it not also true that most people who post have problems and ask for help, whereas those who don't have problems don't post? Not absolute, but a reasonable supposition, I think. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Read the "Voice problem after 8.3 on 720" topic. The links are in there. |

Likewise, I've got no problems either. The generalisation that the v815 map is useless to x20 users is clearly incorrect. |

Unfortunately, a poster in a US forum is now reporting the 'auto power on' problem with his 720 and f/w 8.3.
I thought that issue (or hoped, anyway) had been resolved with 8.3; at least, there hadn't been further reports of that in the last week or so that I've noticed.
Maybe, it's just that everyone is preoccupied with other 8.3 issues. _________________ David |

David, what error is that? Does it only affect users that have hard-wired installations? I wasn't aware that there was a facility to switch an x20 on with the ignition.
I only use the car power outlet, so it probably wouldn't be shown on the menu. There is a 'Car Preferences' icon, but I believe that in Europe it is always greyd out. It is on mine anyway! _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

No, it was the issue about the unit turning on by itself when sitting at home undocked (and often draining the battery as a result). _________________ David |
