Firstly thank you for sorting out the account, i know you not allowed more than one account but no other option seemed to work and the other account can be locked.
As i have already said i tested your database which i downloaded last Monday which I was to beleive was the latest database on your server, I do this every monday even through its monthly that you release it, so yes it was a fair test imho because like i said i had downloaded the latest database for that week. Im more than happy to test it again, but i didnt once not claim which database I had used and admitted to which one i had used. I feel no retraction is needed as i have said which database it was, shame there wasnt another way to find out about the newer database of the 2nd of may.
You have admitted the specs have been there alot longer than i have said, which shows your database DID NOT have them on. Im not getting in a tit for tat, but it certainly did not show them at the time on the M27.
As for you telling me only me seems to have a problem submitting cameras to you, i suggest you have a better look at your system, i use firefox on a vista set up and cannot understand the same. however it seems to me that by reporting locations directly to you is wrong too, so do you actually want me to go outof my way and report them or not?
Quote: | It is released twice a month on average and I still stand by our claims that it is far more accurate than anything Talex may release.
Until you retract or correct your posts about our database on the other forums and explain that it was your testing methodology that was to blame and not our data, I have no further wish to debate this issue with you. |
there you go Darren you dont like it when someone can prove different, i am not removing my comments, i had a similar comment made to me by another camera database when i proved they were not up to standard.
You would like to know me method of testing the database, its simple. I know many mobile traps around where i live, i also have contacts who can tell me where new traps are, there is also the internet and the camera partnership sites. Then there is also the trusty camera at the location or plod there hanging out of the window with his dodgy tech gun. It doesnt take a scientist to find camera locations or mobile traps of which yes are a bit harder to find, but once found they are marked. (thus the idea of reporting them).
Im not even going to get in a tit for tat with you, but your database isnt the most accurate in the world, cameras are often either side of the location on the screen. But as its a members thing where members work together to help each other its still not bad either. This is my personal opinion and im sorry if you dont like it. perhaps an independent company should come along and test it too!!! |

I have admitted no such thing, I said they were in OUR database much earlier than the last two database releases! We were notified the day the poles were set in concrete and they were added then, they were activated in the LIVE database on the dat the SPECS cameras went live!

Our system works, witnessed by the hundreds of reports we get each and every day.

You have not proved different, on Briskoda you admit to using an old database yet you have let the inaccurate comparison on other forums stand without correction. Until such time as you correct the factual inaccuracies in your claims your free subscription is suspended.
None of what you claim has been supported by anything you have supplied to me, your submissions have consisited of data that we already have or data of such poor quality that it would not warrant inclusion. We do not add mobile sites on the basis of a single report. We have absolutely no issue with anyone commenting on our database, no database is perfect but we do have an issue with your rubbishing it and making false claims as to errors and omissions when they are untrue.
As you clearly dislike it so much the loss of access will be of little consequence to you but we are not prepared to allow you continued access to our database when your motives are clearly at opposites with ours. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I've split this topic out as it is essentially discussing alleged inaccuracies in our database and problems with our submission system, neither of which I accept as valid in this case.
Hiding as it was in the hardware SCD forum I don't think it has had enough visibility.
Has anyone else had problems submitting data via our on-line system or found or database so woefully out of date? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have been running a Talex for about a year and I have also been putting the PGPSW CSV database into my MapPoint 2006 for about 2 years now.
I have had 2 occasions recently where new cameras were here and not on the Talex unit.
Example 1) The RedSpeed camera at the junction of Victoria Way and Lockfield Drive in Woking was on the PGPSW database by 2nd April, it has only just appeared on my Talex in the 2 weeks.
Example 2) There are 2 new cameras on the A312 in Feltham near the A316 (2 cameras back to back)). I was not warned about them on my Talex but when I got home I checked my MapPoint camera database and they were on there.
I think Talex do eventually get there but not as quick which could be costly. _________________ Satnav:

I drive tens of thousands of miles in the UK every year and have been using the database from PGPSW for many years.
It's very rare that I see a camera not shown on my gps.
I have used the submit page with total success on several occasions.
The camera database has been a major feature of this site for many years and is certainly one of the best available, if not the best.
Personally I’ve always wondered where the other databases got their data from so quickly when they started to provide one. |

TALEXUSER I will suggest you stop stirring and posting libelous comments about me on various forums. i have reported you and will report you till you stop it or are stopped. I refered what i had to say to the correct parties and feel a more constructive outcome was produced there than on here with the likes of stirring parties like yourself. Also for your information Talexuser its not up to you to ban me just like I am not banned like you have posted on other forums.
For the record I have informed MaFt that I will retest the database + Talex and possibly Novus in a few weeks time, I will contact MaFt with the database number I have downloaded and the start of testing and will personally inform him of my outcome at the end of the 5-7 days that i intend to test them in.
So once again talexuser i am telling you like members of other forums have told you "stop stirring" unless you are going to participate in testing databases, then shut up and keep your oar out.

We have already explained to you that if you acquire the database in any manner other than through a legitimate subscription it is a breach of our terms and the supplier risks having their subscription revoked also. _________________ Darren Griffin |

The ONLY thing I have written is the fact that your account is suspended (just confirmed again above) due to incorrect statements... with a link to this thread so people can make their own mind up by reading the FULL story (which was certainly not being presented by you on other forums).
Since this suspension is true you can report as much as you like and therefore advertise this thread as widely as possible so more people can read it and decide what the facts really are.
Also the only posts removed by the moderator of moneysaving expert forum has been yours, for breaking rules on abuse and language. My post linking to this thread remains - that tells it all.

Talex user go jump and stop stirring across the different forums you are on.
Darren like i have already said to MaFt by email, i had no choice but to do what i did as like you already know my account had been blocked by someone who had decided to change my password your end and none of the requests for the new password would come by email till i had it sent to me by you.

May I remind everybody that this is a family forum and foul language, regardless of how you might try to disguise it is not serving any useful purpose.
Any messages containing such language really ought to be deleted in their entirety rather than simply edited _________________ Andy
