I'm afraid I do not quite follow
These are the files i copied
000cecmd.oo2-296kb
00000ftp.003-82kb
00000lan.005-13kb
cecmd_~2.001-30.8kb
cmcmda~1.000-845bytes
registry.004-13.5kb
When I copy them, do I have to rename only the biggest, which in this case is the first one or what?

look inside cmcmda~1.000 with a text editor. You will see the real names of the other files listed.
001 cecmd.htm
002 cecmd.exe
003 ftp.tfx
004 registry.tfx
005 LAN.tfx _________________ Lutz

Why ?!? You need to use the CE version, as I said. There is little to no point in trying to use any of the Windows Mobile version.
Did you get TCPMP to run? _________________ Lutz

OK!Let's start htis anew.
Since I'm new in this matter I obviously need comprehensive instructions regarding which exactly commander to install and how to do it.
I wasn't trying Win Mobile stuff but on the link there were different versions of TC for different devices with Win CE and I do not know which exactly to use for my iPaq 316.
Second question - why does time setting change after installing /or trying to/TC, as seen in the preview.
And more questions!I've read somewhere in the forums that different numbers on this device stand for different regions.Maybe that's true, because I only have maps for what someone have decided to call Eastern Europe on my 316 although Poland and Hungaty are pretty much in Western...
How can I download and manage supplementary maps and other third party stuff.
Can I run different navigation software and do I need Total Commander or any alternative program in order to do so?
With all this in mind, I'm counting on you for any piece of help or advice
Lutz, you were very helpful, but if you feel this is not the right place to ask these questions, please suggest another forum.
I also want to tell you that I'm having hard times trying to register to gpspassion.I did everything correct but receiver no activation mail and now the site regects my mail address and userneme although I did not execute any activation procedures. |

Hey jordan,
were you finally able to install tc and tcpmp on your ipaq? I've done it last night using Lutz' suggestions. I can give you more detailed steps if you need. I noticed in your post #12 the registry.004 size is 13.5kb. The one I installed was 32kb. |

No, dogarila, I did not!
The only thing I managed to do was to mess up the software, so I ended up in the HP service
There is something weird in this device /to me at least/.
When I install the included Outlook Sync it asks for permission to use the internet connection but than I see no contacts on my iPaq.
When I try to install tcpmp I'm being told I need Active sync in order to install it from my computer, but the Active Syns says there's no device connected to the computer even thougi it is connected.
When I finally managed to install tcpmp I can open it from my Games folder, but see no buttons to run it.
I'm feeling like an idiot, and maybe I am... but still, let's start with something simple and specific.
HOW DO I INSTALL TC ON IPAQ 316? |
