Bear in mind that I paid £389 for the 500 DeLuxe and it came with UK AND European Maps.

I'm assuming you got lucky rather than a special offer of any kind though? _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

I've already plumped for one from AskDirect, as I think I can ride down there today and pick it up... the 550 for £480. _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

Yes, you can always buy additional maps later. |
Isn't the upgrade quite expensive though? _________________ Gone fishing! |

It turns out, the 500 has Europe Maps too? I don't get it? You basically pay £90 more to have them pre-installed (although mine has them pre-installed from what I can tell) and for a car mount... _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

We are and, surprisingly, the upgrade maps aren't that expensive at all. To upgrade from CitySelect V8 to CityNavigator V9 is $75 for the European maps. When I upgraded from V7 to V8 it worked out at a little under £50 which I think is more than acceptable. _________________ Tim |

Yeah, but that's a v8 to v9 upgrade when you already have a licence for the full Europe maps.
How much is it to upgrade from v9 UK to v9 Europe? Maybe I should get off my butt and try and find out! _________________ Gone fishing! |

I didn't even realise that they did a single region any longer!
I got the EU CitySelect (V7, I think) with my GPS10 and upgraded to V8 for around £50. _________________ Tim |
