Finally, I remain puzzled as to why you need the full address. If the position is wrong then can you safely assume that the address is correct? If you have used the address to position the POI then surely using it again will take you to the same spot.
I think some commonsense has to prevail, I personally think that just the road name is adequate, but how can you presume the address is correct if you advocate not having it, surely the main purpose of having POIs is for in a strange town that you dont know the address, believe me thier are a lot of POIs that are out of location and even some without the town name, all though locations are slowly being corrected. agreed you can not satisfy everybody perhaps you should set a poll to see what the majority want.
I am not saying that I do not want the address. The address helps me decide if it is a valid submission. _________________ Various TomToms, Garmin eTrex Legend, GPSMAP 60CSx, Oregon 550t, Forerunner 405

Peacocks will be the name of the POI file so it has been removed. Currently only the Title and Phone Number fields are output in the TomTom file but all of the information is output in the CSV file.
Does the name (Peacocks in this example) still get re-instated if you do a 'combined' download?
Yes, in the following "Ford" and "Fiat" are the subcategory names
so Peacocks will reappear at the front of the POI name. _________________ Various TomToms, Garmin eTrex Legend, GPSMAP 60CSx, Oregon 550t, Forerunner 405

Thanks, Richard, for providing the explanation - it is useful to know why the format changed. In this particular case, the reason I needed the address in the download was because I wanted to compare an old and a new version of the file to see what changes had been made, only to find that every record was different!!
In general, I think I would prefer to see the address details available - it does give you something else to go on where a POI is not quite positioned correctly (e.g. in between 2 parallel streets). However, I don't see it as a major issue, and if there are compelling reasons for omitting it from the download, then I'm quite happy to accept the decision.

... and P.S. please don't take any of these discussions as a personal slur. I for one appreciate the work that has been put in to provide all these POIs - I realise that a lot of effort is needed to keep the database maintained in an up-to-date and usable format. Did you realise quite how much before you started?! Keep up the good work!
