Hej people,

I am sending my Holux GR-230 back to my "dealer" and I hope, that I'll get the bug-reduced new revision of that GPS-mouse.

If there's still the same problem, I will have to buy the great serial cable.

I gave up the hope to get the home-made cable work Exclamation

I wish you a merry christmas- froehliche Weihnachten!
:-)

Greatings from Germany,
CHRIS.

Christian, did you already get an information whether the bug-fixed GR 230 is available in Germany and whether you can swap it ?

When looking for one I found out, that none of the Holux accessory cables seems to be available yet !

After trying to get a USB cable for the GR230 in Singapore and failing (Both in Sim Lim Square and the Funan Centre) including the retailer that I finally found a BT GPS unit in (No-one else much even knew what a GPS was) I gave in & bought a USB extension cable (Type A female - Type-A male) a DB-9 connector, a pair of pliers & a soldering iron (I was on holiday & didn't have that stuff with me Smile

A couple of hours later (It was hot & I wanted a swim first), and I'd wired up the 9 pin D shell to the type -A connector (Female end) and plugged in the USB cable from my digital camera to the GR230, and started up minicom...

And I get garbage on the 230's serial connection as well... Looks pretty similiar to the BT garbage I get after trying to sync protocol & speed with SiRF Demo... (Which is why I was hunting for a cable)...

Hopefully I'll get it sorted soon as Holux UK wake up from the holidays on monday...
