Not necessary. Still reboots even if still on. | Problems arise if the Device is writing to the SD Card at the time.
But if it's locked up it wouldn't be writing, would it.8O _________________ Richard

It wouldn't be on anyway as the problem here is that it won't switch on remember? |

Richard...not too much of a problem if you can't get it to switch on in the first place........ _________________ Regards

Just a quick note to thank all you guys for the info on getting the unit to start. I spent a good few days all depressed at the thought of sending my TomTom Rider back to be fixed, and feeling a little conned that it'd broken within 2 months of purchase.
I can't tell you how much of a relief it was to find that it wasn't bust, and that all I needed to do was reset it!
For any future problems I may encounter I've set up a special "Navigate To..." button on my PC that guides me to this Forum!
Top marks folks! |

I had a wierd issue where finding TT1v2 wouldn't turn on, used the reset 30s+Power on 10s and it didn't work. Tried varying lengths of time. Nothing.
Connected it up to PC via USB and it switched on perfectly.
Have I got a faulty reset button or something? Unit's not even a day old! |

Not just very low on battery was it?
Connecting via USB provides the ONE v2 (only) with an external power supply feed, so it will power up when it won't on batteries alone.. |

TT1v2 comes with unit+windscreen mount+inc-car charger.
Case + home charger are optional costly extras.
BTW not the battery wasn't low. It was at the halfway mark. Plenty of juice.
My concern is that if it refuses to turn on whilst on the road and I don't have a computer nearby to plug it into, I'm b*****ed |

Try taking the SD Card out, and then back in again after several secs. _________________ Richard

Just used this guy --- great --- return of post service... what I wanted done was to get my TT classic to work in the car now we had a new windscreen fitted -- Renault magan !!! - the new screen would not let the signals through -- the old one did --
The Sat Nav Shop fitted a new base to my holder and an antenna -- with about 12 yards of wire !!! and you could place this little block thing in the car and pick up a signal -- great it worked ... now just got to get the cables hidden in the roof down to the back window shelf..
any way -- great turnaround time...
Thanks for the info..
Maurice
