VERY confused now!
Are you saying, as a moderator of this site, that it is OK to post links to copies of the map files, and that sharing them in this way will not adversly affect the original owner's registration status? |
Did I say anything about posting links to the copies of the map files or sharing them on a public forum? No.
What I said was that as far as I understand, you are not buying the files as such, you are buying a license to use them. All the map files (of the same map version) are identical and if a legal owner manages to recover the damaged files by copying them from somewhere else, then I personally don't see any problems with that. |

You have missed the difference between the op system (open source) and the maps (NOT open source). Your link is to the OS, the discussion is about the maps.
