I don't see a file called that. There's a zip archive named something similar... Before doing anything else, check that Windows explorer is set to show file extensions (Tools/Folder Options/View/ and UNtick the box called "Hide extensions for known file types".

Now, lets start again....

1) Download from the first link on SC's website called "TTG Applications and 5.202" ---- Get an archive called "ttgapps.zip"

2) Unzip ttgapps.zip ---- Get a folder called "ttgapps"

3) That folder contains:
4 folders called "catapps", "copy_to_maps_folders", "SdkRegistry", and "Skin".
4 files called "cleanup.txt", "README.txt", "tomtom.mnu", and "TomTom-License.txt". (The README.txt file tells you what to do with all of those, but I'd suggest you do the next step first, to get the operating system updated before adding any extras).

And finally, in that folder, there is another archive called "ttgoapp-5.202.zip"

4) Unzip ttgoapp-5.202.zip ---- Get 6 files called "connect2internet.db", "connect2internet.so", "data.chk", "install.bif", "system", and "ttsystem"

All of these should be copied onto the root directory (i.e. not in any folder) on your SD card, replacing the originals with the same name.

Once you've done that you should have V5.202 installed and you can check it works before going on to the next step.

5) Download from the second link "TTG Updated Applications (No 5.202) updated 24th July 2005 18:03" ---- Get an archive called "catapps_24-july-fix1.zip"

6) Unzip catapps_24-july-fix1.zip ---- Get folder called "catapps_24-july-fix1"

7) Inside that folder are two folders "catapps", and "SdkRegistry" which are replacements for the ones from the first download. Use the directions from the README.txt file to copy these folders and the other stuff from step 3 into the correct places.

How's that!
8O :D

(Incidently, remember that the system files you are dealing with here are Linux not Windows, that's why some of them don't have file extensions)

Can someone please tell me how what where the file named 'ttgapps 5.202' should go as it is not an EXE file or a ZIP therefore it cannot be run.

The only file I have with that name is a zip file. What file extension have you got with yours? It's 4.414MB.

I have downloaded ' TTG Applications and 5.202' six times now.
After download all I am left with is a single file which windows does not recognise. it is not a zip file nor an exe therefore I cannot do anything with it. The file name is
ttgapps 5.202 all windows tells me is that it is a 202 File. I have also chosen to view all hidden extensions.

What am I doing wrong.

The download file is called 'ttgapps.zip', this when un-zipped gives 22 various app files plus 1 zip file called 'ttgoapp-5.202.zip'. This is not including the .bmp files.

This 2nd zip file holds 6 files, the system, that you copy to the root of the SD card.

At what stage do you end up with the 'ttgapps-5.202' file?

I've just downloaded it, again, to see if there is a problem, but everything is OK. I don't know why you should get a file of that name.

Try again with this direct link - http://www.automated.it/ttgapps.zip? - and see which file you get.

Many thanks to Oldboy & Andy_P2002 for their help & patience, it would appear that I was downloading the wrong file.

Just one more thing do I need to download the July fix on SCs site.

For your info Jimbob, here's the "front page", that gives a brief intro to the new apps. http://www.automated.it/ttg-apps.html

Tyres: I've just pumped up the tyres on a colleague's car that she bought new, just over a year ago. She thought you only had to check them after you'd had a puncture! 8O

The front ones were at around 15 psi. I told her she might notice a bit of difference with the steering!

If you want just the firmware 5.202 here the link:

http://www.poigps.com/users/quizface/ttgoapp-5.202.zip

Copy the 6 files in to the root of your SD.

That's it

Cheers Andy i will have a look at it as i need to understand how to use the Quick Add Camera.

Just got back with her car, one tyre was so worn that you could see into the tyre & of course the tracking was well out due to her forever bumping up kerbs.

Cheers again for your help.
