No again Sad You're only option is to keep the two apps on seperate cards.

Hey,

You do not need to and it is quite possible to have both SatNav apps on your Nokia 6600, I do on my 512mb MMC.

The "SYSTEM" then into the "APPS" folder on the MMC contains files that are required to run any software installed on your MMC, changing this folder as you have done by over-writing it's contents will cause problems.

If you have a card reader go in and explorer your MMC, enter "SYSTEM" then "APPS" and you will see all the apps that have been installed.
What you need to do is copy and paste the Route66 folder into this "APPS" folder.
The Route66 folder goes to the root of your MMC, namely E:
Any files in Route66's "SYSTEM" / "APPS" folder, copy and paste these into the above mentioned "APPS" folded.

It sounds hard, but really isn't. It's more difficult to explain in writing.
Best idea is to view your MMC with a card reader to understand what goes where and how it all works.

Hope it helps.

Hi Ian, thanks for that I will try that later on this evening, when I get home, will let you know if its ok.

so I must do this for both tom tom and route 66 ?

a few questions are you running tom tom mobile and route 66 mobile on one card?

I have 2 bluetooth recievers and I find the route66 reciever is so powerful i'm getting 9- 11 sats even if it in my bag which is in the boot, where as tom tom one is very very weak 1-3 sats, any suggestions here.

many regards

Hey,

Yes, I am running both TomTom & Route66 from a 512mb RS-MMC in my 6600. I brought am RS-MMC with the view in mind to using it with my 6630 when it comes out, little did I know that the 6630 use's another different card a Dual Voltage RS-MMC!!! You live & learn.

Both programs have files that go onto the root of your memory card and another folder that goes inside the "APPS" folder located inside the "SYSTEM" folder.
TomTom maps also go to the root of the MMC, namely E:

Give it a go. As I said it's hard to convey what has to be done but in reality it's simple. All you need is the memory space to do it.

Hi Ian, I'm not doing well here I thought it was easy but its not for me.

ok so far i tell you in a bit detail what i am going to do:route66.

ok i have my card in and i can see 7 folders:
1)image
2)others
3)route 66
4)sounds
5)systems
6)video
7)mobile104 (nokia install file)

I double click on the (5)systems folder above, which gives me 2 more folders called:
8)apps
9)fav

I double click on (8)apps
which gives me a folder called:(10)route66

do I double click on(10)route66 if I do it gives me the following:
pres.ini
route66.ail
route66.app
route66.rsc
route66_caption.rsc

Hey,

Hehehe, we're getting you all confused eh? Sorry I'll see if I can get you back on the road again

ok i have my card in and i can see 7 folders:
1)image
2)others
3)route 66 <----- This folder should be quite big in size and contains folders named "maps", "help" and a few others. This is fine here.

I double click on the (5)systems folder above, which gives me 2 more folders called:
8)apps
9)fav

I double click on (8)apps
which gives me a folder called:(10)route66

do I double click on(10)route66 if I do it gives me the following:
pres.ini
route66.ail
route66.app
route66.rsc
route66_caption.rsc

If you already have the above on your MMC in the place above it should already work and be listed in your phones menu.
The only one I don't have in my folder is the pres.ini file.

When you copied across from the original Route66 MMC did you turn on hidden folders by any chance? Just an idea but I wonder if in the transfer some files have not been copied across.

Try removing everything to do with Route66 and re-copying it across again and hopefully this may sort your problem.

Hey,

This is strange, there isn't copy protection switch on your new MMC by any chance?
If not there has got to be something program wise that is stopping it.
Have you tried copying the TTmobile files to your PC first and then across to the bigger MMC?
Keep looking into it, I have not had any problems with security issues.
The only other option is to try sending to the phone via PC Suite.
Try formatting it in the PC to maybe.

Hey,

I see your problem now mate. Right, we need to keep one System folder on the phones MMC inorder for it to run. What you need to do is take the file/folder from within the Route66's System - Apps folder and paste that into the same one where TomTom is.

What we're aiming for essentially is an Apps folder that contains both Route66 & TomTom.
As you've seen you cannot replace one with the other, you just have to add them to the other one so they are side by side inside one common Apps folder.

Ian

P.S. Just seen your PM, have texted you my number.
