I have managed to do this update in a slightly chewy way. Instructions posted below incase someone else needs them.
Download iGo single file all camera database from PocketGPSWorld.
Download Alpine navigation update from Alpine support page (3 step only i.e. X701D-A_USB-Stick-3_Navigation.zip) and unzip it to usb thumb drive.
Unzip The PGPSW files and copy the one or 2 files (pocketgps_uk_pmobile.txt & pocketgps_uk_sc.txt) into the thumbdrive in the following location F:\LIMONAVI\NAVI AP\Alpine\content\speedcam
Delete the file SpeedCamText.txt already in that folder and rename the new file(s) as SpeedCamText.txt.
Open file LIMO_EU_v2.0.9_PRODUCT.md5 found in F:\LIMONAVI with notepad and delete all lines that reference SpeedCamText.txt, close saving the adjusted file.
Start Alpine system, after it has fully started insert the thumbdrive into the Alpine's USB slot and the system will import the new database (as well as reinstall all other data - I haven't figured out how to stop this unneeded step). When done you will prompted to restart system by removing the usb drive

Doh!
So desperate to find an answer, support weren't too helpful and the system uses their own database via NaviExtras ToolBox |
