Would it be possible for a consolidated file for the 6000 in ov2 format to be created. It takes so long to upload every indivigual file via MyDrive.
or can some one tell me please how to create a consolidated file that I can upload?
Thanks |

I note on the Installation guides section of this site that there is no support for the Go6000 but I thought that POI's can be added following the fairly recent software update.
Am I missing something?
Are there any instructions for POI installation please? |

Hi topref.
Although you are correct, the latest update to TT's software does allow 3rd party POI's to be added, it's not the same as it used to be.

It would appear that you use "MyDrive" to add them, wholesale, to the PND but you can't assign an icon or set up proximity warnings for them. They are displayed on the screen as a defaul blue dot/flag and you can navigate to them. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

So, basically, Tom Tom are being just as awkward as before. There's no doubt that they monitor sites such as this so,
Why no icons?
Why can't we set distances?
I used text to speech on my previous unit and that would be desirable too.
I wasn't selected to be involved in the development (although I received an e.mail tempter) but I can't believe that those selected (if indeed there were any) did not include these matters as a basic requirement.
I am so so so disappointed. |

I've said before, I reckon they have signed a deal with their camera provider. They know how to do it because it was a feature for many years. _________________ DashCam:

I need some help here. I have managed to get everything installed on my mac and have managed to download 65 POI's, including the speed cam database OV files and others POI's from this site and they appear in my desktop TT My Drive My Places POI files but they haven't appeared on my GO6000.
Am I trying to install too many?
I am running just the UK & ROI maps and have 5591MB free on the device.
I've restarted everything and used the device in the car but nothing of the downloads appears.
Sorry if this is/has been discussed somewhere here before but can't find it. |

there is no point putting the PGPSW Cameras on a Go 5000/6000 or 5100/6100 as they don't work.
Depending on the size of the poi files it may take some time for them to be downloaded or TT may block large file downloads to the units, especially if not enough space on them. |

It doesn't mention alerts and proximities for cameras.
Just ov2 files. No mention of bmp or wav that was required when it worked properly. _________________ DashCam:

Just checked out the instructions on this link for the 5100 http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/minor_detail/a_id/13814/
It would appear that you can add the .ov2 file and the .bmp file either together, or separately.
I don't have any devices that use MyDrive Connect, so I can't verify if it actually works, nor check for warning sounds etc..
For some strange reason when I click on any of the off site web links provided in the postings, it takes me to the UK TomTom Home page. Using Chrome if that makes any difference! _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 50 LMT-D App 5.90

Not surprising. They re-did their discussions forum earlier this year and made a complete pig's ear of it. There are several user threads on there pointing out how bad it is. _________________ Dennis
