I often want to give people a list of the files in the weekly download of the camera database, and it seems silly to put it in a normal reply (as it's now quite long!)
So I thought I'd do it here, so it can be linked to.
------------------------------
Currently, the TomTom format of the camera database is downloadable in two different versions... "consolidated by type" and "Speed-zoned"
If you want to be able to tell the difference between all the camera types and speeds, you need the "speed-zoned" version of the database.
For the Speed-zoned version:
Once you have downloaded the .zip archive file and "unzipped it", there should be a total of 132 files (as of October 2011) if you opted to include the unverified "pMobile" files, or 100 if you didn't.
Of those,
* 4 are text files with various licence agreements and the version number etc. These don't need to be copied to the TomTom.
The rest are made up of:
* 32 data files with an .ov2 extension (or 24 if you chose not to include the "pMobile" files)
* 64 icon files with a .bmp extension - a set of 32 normal sized icons and a set of "X2" double-sized ones as well (or 48 in all without the pMobiles).
* and 32 audio files with an .ogg extension if you opted to include those on the download form. (or 24 without the pMobiles)
You can see how they are arranged by looking at the various data files
('tba' is for where a speed limit hasn't been confirmed yet and 'var' means cameras in variable speed zones, such as parts of the M25)
8 categories of fixed cameras at different speeds:
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_var.ov2
8 categories of mobile speed trap locations at different speeds:
pocketgps_uk_mobile_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_var.ov2
8 categories of unconfirmed reports of mobile traps at different speeds:
pocketgps_uk_pmobile_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_pmobile_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_pmobile_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_pmobile_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_pmobile_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_pmobile_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_pmobile_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_pmobile_var.ov2
1 category for redlight cameras:
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
8 categories of SPECS average speed camera at different speeds
pocketgps_uk_specs_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs_var.ov2
=33 .ov2 files in total
You need to copy ALL of the .ov2, .bmp and .ogg files (132 files) into your map folder USING WINDOWS EXPLORER on a TomTom which uses 'Home', or using 'MyTomTom' if your TomTom uses that.
For the Consolidated by type version:
You would have :
pocketgps_uk_gatso.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile.ov2
pocketgps_uk_pmobile.ov2
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs.ov2
(5)
plus 10x .bmp files and 5x .ogg audio files.
There also used to be a "Single file" option where all the confirmed cameras of all types and the mobile sites were in a single file (the optional pMobiles were in another). This is still available, but only in other formats, such as .csv.
Single:
pocketgps_uk_pmobile.ov2
pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2
(2)
plus 4x .bmp files and 2x .ogg audio files. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)
