Hi All
About 3mins after the warranty ran out the on/off button started playing up. It wont work at all now. I have found an explanation on the www as why this happens. Is there someone who fixes the units.
If I buy another, I need a unit that will work with the heat reflective windows in the car, plus if external aerials are required, they cannot be magnetic as our car is all aluminium!
Nuvi 660T's seem to be going cheap enough, but they look like they have the same on/off switches as our 310T. Were these ever modified?
Ta,

Can't help with the On/Off button issue but all current models will work behind an athermic windscreen. The reception issues only affected earlier generations of receiver design.
The nuvi 660 has a SiRFStarIII chipset which will work fine without the need for an external antenna. HTH _________________ Darren Griffin |

We often recommend http://www.satnav-shop.com/ for repairs, but I think they only do TomToms.
Might be worth giving them a ring to see if they can recommend anyone else though? |

Cracking replies gang! Thank you very, very much!
I have been on to Garmin about this. They claim that its not a common prob, but know about it. They offered to exchange the unit for a recon one for under £70 with a 12 month warranty. They have pointed out the the 660T's for a lil'over £100 are reconditioned units too!
I guess I'll get what I pay for. The Garmin has been poor with regard satlaite reception, is another make better £4£? |
