|
|
Hi Guys,
Just got my 540 from amazon yesterday - and as the topic implies - the lighter/charger USB Mini socket won't fit into the Active Dock due to it having a large lump of plastic and it being a right-angled connector rather than a straight one.
Either I'm being really embarassingly dumb or this is a design error! Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks
Phill |

Ignore the iPod and Audio connections which your mount will not have. The mini-USB power plug should fit into the Power socket shown on the left above?
I can't picture how any mini-USB plug wouldn't fit but the correct one supplied is right angled in the horizontal plane, is yours the same as this:

Hi Darren - thanks that is indeed the setup of my active dock (without the ipod connectors as you say).
The problem is that my plug is shaped like this:
|
| <--- Wire
## <--- Large plastic right angle which hits the top of indent on the dock
==## <--- USB mini
(sorry the dock is in the car so I can't put a picture on)
Basically the large plastic part won't go into the indent - most likely I can "carve" a notch for it.
ideally the connector should be the other way around or straight in. I'll post pictures later unless anyone has some to hand of thiers that I can compare with?
Thanks |

So on your plug, the area in red above is too 'high' to fit under the recess above the mini-USB socket on the cradle? _________________ Darren Griffin |

It sound like you got the older default lighter lead (4M00.004) that comes with the x30 range and would go out backards from the x30 unit.
This does not fit my 940 active mount as the wire would go vertically up compared to the active mount socket and the shroud where the wire enters the plug catches on the upper half of the mount which prevents it from being inserted.
You need a 4N01.006 or similar where the wire enters the side of the plug as in the pictures above. _________________ Drivelux |

You are not alone with this issue, I have seen at least two other posts where the wrong lead was in the box - Mike |
