I'm in the process of migrating from PC to an Intel iMac 24 and not getting very far with downloading the database.

It detects that I'm a Mac user but fails with Decompression error. I've loaded Stuffit expander but I cant get my head round the instruction on the website to

locate the file and right click.

I cant find the file to click on it ( why right click on a Mac)

Thanks for any help you can put my way.

Why? Because that's how you access the 'Open With' action menu. Right-click or Ctrl Click.

I'll assume you are using Safari? If so then the default download location is unsurprisingly, user/Downloads.

Once you have downloaded the file it should be located in the 'Downloads' folder.

Open the Downloads folder. You should see a file called pgpsw-speed-cams-xxxx.zip and possibly another file called pgpsw-speed-cams-xxxx.zip.download.

Right click (or ctrl-click) the first file (the one with the .zip extension) and select Open With - Stuffit Expander

If you do not see this as an option in 'Open with' then that means you haven't configured Stuffit and associated .zip files with it. No biggie, launch Stuffit Expander from the Applications folder and drag and drop the downloaded file onto the Expander window to unzip instead.

Hi Darren,

Many thanks for your reply.

As you can see I'm a complete novice at this Mac lark, umpteen years looking after pc networks has addled my brain.

I can now see the files and have run POI loader and it reports that the POI's have loaded on my SD card but the POI's are not visible on the 550. Do I have to do anything on the 550.

I have assigned ZIP to Stuffit.

How do you clear everything from the downloads folder, there is a load of stuff in there and I'd like to start again with a clean sheet.

Many Thanks,

Len

No prob, we're Mac converts too. To clear the folder if you don't need any of the files contained within, delete the contents or drag them to the Trash.

Done!!!

Last question

Is there a simple way to get my chosen POI's from your site to the same folder as the cameras?

Thanks again
