Hi,
I have a TT520 with V8 software and v7.2 Western European map.
I recently mnagaed to 'stuff up' my 2Gb card which had the map on it and the Computer Voices.
I formatted the card and reinstalled the map and voices but I cannot get the voices to work. I have tried various things and when they do get recognised in the voice selection, they don't produce any sound.
I have tried installing them on the internal memory and / or the card to no avail.
Anybody have any ideas ?
Thanks

Let's get the obvious things out the way first:
Tried a reset with a pin?
Tried the "Clear Flash" tool? (do a search to find a download link for that) |

I have the utility from TomTom but it seems to be the proverbial "sledgehammer to crack a nut".
Before I wipe my device, is there anything else I can try ?

I have not used the clearflash tool myself but my understanding is that it clears some internal flash memory in the tomtom, it does not clear your memory card or "wipe your device". Others have tried it and it seems to do no harm even if it does no good. As always take a backup using Windows Explorer before doing anything else. |

Correct. It doesn't clear anything personal/important. |

No, you won't notice any difference at all after it has done it (except hopefully your problem will have gone away! (no promises about that though, it's only a suggestion 'cos we haven't got any other ideas yet!)))
And if that doesn't fix it, what happens if you try to add a completely new voice via Home? |

When you say you reinstalled your map and voices, was that from a backup or from TomTom's website? Have you tried deleting the voices and using Home to Add Computer Voices? |

All thie installations were done via Home.
Standard vioces work fine - it's just the Computer ones....I'll try the clear flash now I'm feeling a bit braver.
Cheers guys. |

Hi all,
If any one is interested the clear flash tool didn't help.
I have now resolved it by reinstalling the application.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
