I have a TT GO 520T.
I get a message in the bottom right hand corner of the screen saying "safety key enabled" could someone tell me what this is ? |

I'm not 100% sure...
But I think there is an option under the 'Safety preferences' to lock the screen over a certain MPH ?
Is this what's being activated - otherwise i've no idea. Sorry.

Thanks JD' But no it's not that. That option allows you to Turn off the map display "Always, Above certain speeds & Never " I've set it to NEVER so I don't believe it's that. But now that you have pointed this out, what is the reason for this function? Many thanks for your interest. Regards, |

Go to "Safety perferences" and de-select "Hide most menu options while driving" I think that is the control for the locking out the menu functions while moving - Mike |

Do you use the home software? Is this some wierd thing you can invoke using home?
Also - Try using the reset pin under the unit? Might just be a software oddity?

Yes I do use the home software and I have been reading that it is not a good thing to do! but it do not make sense that It only happens me, I'll look in that direction.
If I were to stop for a second & let my brain catch up I would say that "I start to drive and after a few seconds this message appears Safety Lock Enabled and then I cannot access the screen functions" |

Try this page link:
HERE
According to that, and the Screen Shots, a "safety feature to prevent access to the menus whilst in motion", is exactly what it is.
Not sure why you are getting it, if you say you have turned it off though....
EDIT:
And as has been suggested, as best I can tell on my Go 720, the way you enable this seems to be the Safety Preferences screen, but on our devices (the screenshots relate to a ONE XL), you tick, or untick, the option "Hide most menu options while driving" |
