Hi to all!
One year ago I have successfully updated my gps system sony nav u70 putting inside TomTom navigator release 6.00 with maps 6.75.
All works great, still now!!!

I would like to update it again installing the newest TomTom navigator 7 with maps 7.15. But, how can I do this?

Is there anyone able to give me help and support?

Thanks in advance for that.

First you must write the entire code for the TomTom Navigator 7 yourself, compile it, test it and then install it on your device...

In short, TomTom Navigator 7 does not exist, and according to TomTom there are no plans for it in the future either... Rolling Eyes

That's not strictly true.

The 520/720/920 all use version 7 software but (and it's a big but) TomTom have not yet released (and won't say that they will) version 7 as a self install for PDAs and smartphones.

Don't hold your breath...

And what is the TomTom Navigator? Yes, it is the TomTom version for PDAs and phones. So the fact that I stated that there is no TomTom Navigator 7 yet and there are apparantly no plans for it either is "not strictly true" in what sense? Rolling Eyes

Not strictly true as in TomTom have not actually said that there are no plans.

Watch the video. The interviewer asks about it and the TomTom guy hints that going forward they will be partnering with HTC to bundle with devices.

Ignoring their loyal PDA customers does not make any commercial sense. (Unless they are really complacent about the PND market...)

So, TT want to destroy the market for pirate copies? All very commendable, and shame on those who follow that path. However, if TT do decide to bundle Navigator 7 with selected HTC (or other brand) devices, it will be a very short time before the clever clogs who can extract ROM details and "cook" new roms will be able to pull the relevant stuff off and get it into the ether for distribution. I would give it a month before cab files start appearing.

I have licensed copies of both TT and CoPilot 7 (and still prefer TT, maybe it's the years of use, but I find CP more complex while at the wheel). TT uses a licence code that clearly can be cracked and used on multiple devices. CP uses a licence that has to be activated for a device and can't be used on another until the first is deactivated. I may be wrong, but I don't see a whole shedload of CP copies out there on torrent sites.

Would I be naive to suggest that CP have a better approach to defeating the cheats, and should be copied by TT rather than limiting a market that is probably growing again after a few years of stagnation through the rise of faster, better quality and more reliable WM6 phones?
