|
|
I am trying to use the 6010 with O2 XDA PDA/Phone
Rom Version 3.17.03 ENG
Radio 4.21.00
I have sucessfully installed the USB drivers and tools. When I run comno.exe the PAD reports the COM port for the driver is 4.
However if I run the test.exe and attempt to open port 4 it fails.
I have disabled Infared beams on the PDA. I have also done hard reset on the XDA removing all other software and just installed
the drivers. All other GPS software fail to open PORT 4.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi lowlife,
I have the exact same issue. Can you explain what you mean with 'GPS receivers don't need drivers'? Should I skip the driver installation for Rikaline altogether and only install navigation software like TomTom?
Cheers,

There are one or two old CompactFlash GPSes about that do require a driver on a Pocket PC. However, a serial GPS like a Rikaline 6010 doesn't need any drivers.

Hi,
It was solved for me too. Turns out that the reason I couldn't get it to work was that some other program was still using COM1 (in my case IR was still switched on) so the 'serial cable on COM1' connection to the GPS receiver didn't work.
Indeed I got the whole thing working by switching IR off and configuring the GPS receiver in the GPS configuration tool in my navigation software (TomTom 3). Without 'extra' drivers :-)
Thanks,
