After having my original f20 repaired it developed the same fault 2 days later, navman suggested i return the unit to them and they will send me a brand new replacement. My original navman had the words f20 on the bottom of the unit on the front, the one they have sent me today does not say anything !!!!! How do i know what model it is ?
phoned navman up and i was told by some yank bird it is an updated version of the f20,yet i did not tel her any of my personal details so i am not sure what to believe. there are a few serial numbers on the rear of the unit but dont mention what model it is just says f-series. can any one shed some light on this for me pleae? many thanks .. |

If you like, just download the F-Series manual and it will (a) show you what your F20 looks like and then will tell you that if you navigate as follows:-
Go to
"Preferences System About read information.
About provides information about your Navman and our copyright notice."
This will tell you what model you have. _________________ Gee-Pee

When you switch on the device does it not say on the screen Fxx as it boots up? - the xx will be the number of the device - Mike |

Early F20 devices had F20 printed on them but later do not; same with error message when there is a card problem -- early ones say F20, later ones say F-Series. This was done because only F20 was released initially -- F30, F40 and F50 came some months later. The only difference between those units is the bundled cradle (none, traffic, bluetooth or traffic+bluetooth). Since devices are actually identical, Navman just dropped numerical designation from F units to simplify things for themselves. |

If you load the bootloader/developers menu it should tell you the model number, hardware version etc etc |
