Hi, I dont like having hundreds of POI files mixed in with the main map files. Is there any tool I can use to compress all of my ov2 and bmp files into one file which tomtom will be able to understand? Or if not, into one folder within the map folder where tomtom will know to look?

Many thanks

Mik.

You can use Poiedit and append all your seperate .ov2 files into one, but it will mean you can only have one .bmp files to cover the whole file, depending on your content of the .ov2 files you will still see the descriptions within the individual POIs when listing in the Pda. in the same vein the pgpsw Poi databse can be dowloaded as combined categories. but bare in mind the max is about 22 categories and will still have to appended in Poiedit or similar.

I am pretty sure you cannot put them in a seperate folder, because they are associated with a specific map?, due to the limitaions on the number of POIs on tomtom pda i have created a folder called Spare POIs and keep other POIs in it that I may need when away from home, and these are not picked up by tomtom in use.

If this is the only thing you ever have to worry about on your TT, then you are a lucky man! Laughing

Live with it, it's how it works.
You can't put them in folders (either inside or outside the map folder) and as aj says, if you combine them into one it will be pointless as they will all have the same icon whether it's a MacDonalds or an Art Gallery!
