|
|
Hi folks
I sent an update to the database about a redlight camera (11240@30) about a week ago or there abouts. It was to say that there has never been a redlight camera in this position as i have lived here for 30 years and been driving here for 13 years so i know for definite there has never been one there.
I was checking the map in the speed camera link at the top of the screen and when i go to the location of the camera there is a red cross in a box (was not there before my update) and i was wondering if this means it has been removed or that it is under investigation and will it be altered in January 08 update. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

That is a Remove Request which is waiting to be Verified.
When a site has been deleted it will show up as a Red X. (See on Shields Rd, just to the West of the Relight). _________________ Richard

Thanks oldboy, i see what you mean. How long would you say it takes for it to be verified.
How do you think this camera got here in the first place, could it have got mixed up with a temp. camera instead. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

I've no idea. Probably pre-verification system. _________________ Richard

From my listing, you reported it at 5:27pm on the 17th December. As the Glasgow, Wishaw area is about 350 miles away from me, your chances of me looking are pretty slim!! However, we do have a couple of verifiers in that region, so I suspect it wont be too long before one gets there. If you read the red text above the cameras map, you'll see that the reason you can see a red cross in a box is because it's your report. _________________ Dennis

Funnily enough, I nearly accepted a delivery to Aberdeen today, but thought better of it in view of the weather and not even setting out until maybe 1pm - 500 miles is quite a run before supper!! _________________ Dennis

which icon do you mean:
or
the top one means the camera has been removed, the bottom one is your personal submission that is still pending verification (but is a submission of a redlight camera)
however, this one:
is a pending remove request

It is this one that i see, I have lived in this area all my life and know for a fact that there has been no redlight camera here and i was wondering if it meant it had been removed. Thanks for letting me know the differences guys.
Watch this!! i will go by next week and there will be a camera. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Any chance these different icons could be added in a "key" next to the map?
I certainly never knew the difference between a red or an orange x in a box. (Maybe the red and orange are too close in colour too). |

You miss my point...
If I don't know there is a difference between a Red square and an "almost red" one, why would I click on it? |
