Why do they always update that page hours after the upgrade is available. _________________ Richard

Maybe they have to get some feedback from users first, to find out what they've fixed! |

Andy, if you're going to make comments like that, can you at least preface your comments with something like, "Don't read the following comment if you have liquid in your mouth"
Anybody know a good way to get coffee off of a LCD screen? |

I installed 7.161 on my TomTom GO500 this evening only to find that most of my individually created POIs have disppeared from the travel screen (though when I checked the ov2 files via POI EDit they are still there. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I get my POIs back on my travelling and Browse Map screens? |

Have they just been disabled?
Change preferences / Show POI on map - to enable each category
and
on Browse map - Options / tick 'POI' - to show all enabled ones
and
Change Preferences / Manage POIs / Warn when near - to set up alerts |

well the back up works I have not noticed too many people saying they have had issues with the update, a) cos they don't know, b) cos it works for them, c) they own a better up to date version of TOMTOM _________________ TTG300 with version 7.903. (9183/081205)OS:2344, GPS v1.21 Boot 4.8600

Do you have a custom menu or any add-on programs that would change the menu structure?
Get rid of those and "Help Me" should appear.
Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a way to have both at the moment. |

I did have a problem in that I couldn't turn the XL on after the update unless I removed and re-inserted the card.
When I put the query onto the TomTom support page, it came back with another question regarding how to reset it - My TomTom device won’t turn on. How can I reset my device?
In summary:
- charge device for 2 hours - ie make sure it's charged up
- remove SD card if it has one
- press and hold reset button for 15 seconds
- turn device on
- re-insert SD card if it has one
As it would appear to be a useful FAQ, I'm not sure why I can't get it to show without asking a relevant question first.
It's worked fine since then. _________________ Gerry
