Hi Folks,
I'm new to the whole GPS thing, so apologies for being dumb.
I bough a bluemedia 6300 direct from evesham a few days ago. Firstly, it didn't come with the SD card, so when I turned the machine on I got the splash screen followed by a request to insert the sd card.
Few days later and evesham sent the SD card and first of all I got...
'Installation files not found on SD/MMC card!' and an okay button.
So I fiddled a bit and after inserting and reinserting the card a couple of times an installation screen came up and after a few minutes I got the thing to work and got onto the tutorial.
I bought the machine to use whilst I was in London that day, so decided to turn it off fully, by flicking the small switch at the back to off. Of course, just to check I flicked it back to on and guess what....
'Installation files not found on SD/MMC card!'
and that's been it for a few days. I can't get anywhere with the machine. I've turned it on, turned it off, done a hard reset, taken the card out. Even bought another SD card and copied the files over.
The machine came with two CD's - active sync and the maps CD.
I've installed these onto my computer, even reinstalled them. I can use the destinator software to copy the maps over onto the SD card but nothing else.
So firstly, I don't undertand why it set up and installed the software once when I got the SD card and not ever again.
Secondly, I can't see whether I'm missing an essential installation disk or if this is done using active sync automatically.
I've trawled through the limited manuals and pdf files and there's nothing anywhere about reinitialising the software. I tried customer support when I found I was missing the SD card and I was unipressed to say the least, and I waited on hold for 30 minutes.
Can anyone help please - going nowhere fast here!
