Can anyone tell me if its possible to stitch Country maps, ie: 512Mb SD Card with FULL UK & FULL FRANCE, plan a route from say CATTERICK to AU-VERGNE and get TTNAV to plan the route and navigate it WITHOUT having to SWITCH maps when it reaches the end of each country.
In other words get TTNAV to see both maps as ONE.
Thanks |

Not with TomTom, you'll have to plan a route to Catterick, then change maps when you get to France, and plot your French journey. You can load them all onto a 512mb SD/CF card though. |

I ordered my Tom Tom + European maps for a trip to Europe. Unfortunately the European maps got lost so the supply sent me Navigator 2 with navtec on loan to get me out of a fix. I travelled across Europe, as I went over borders the detail on the maps reduced considerably, but the main route stayed showing, giving me time to switch map at my leisure. I was able to store my favorites from all over Europe and plan routes from one country to another. The only time this was not possible was from my home to final destsination. When I used Dover as a departure it had no problem. On my return I remove that system and installed Tom Tom. The maps are nicer, but if I had known that I could not do the same thing I would have returned Tom Tom and kept Navigator 2. I thought Tom Tom was produce by a Dutch company? If so how can a company in a small country surronded by other countries be so short sited?? |

I can understand there being map licensing issues if you buy the map for a single country, but I think the maps on the European set ought to overlap into neighbouring countries where they are not separated by water.
On the other hand, there is really no need to include Corsica with the French mainland map, it should be a separate map that you select while you are on the ferry, or in the airport car hire office.
A couple of weekends ago we were touring in the Ardennes and TTN was quite useless as the route kept crossing the France/Belgium border. |
