|
|
Hi all,
I wonder if there are any gurus out there than can answer a couple of questions I have with the mio a201:
I am a newbie when it comes to PDAs so bear with me!
Why does the a201 create a "windows mobile based device" in my network places? Does anyone know the use of this? It tries to get an IP address but fails due to not having a DHCP server running.
ActiveSynch fails to detect the PDA UNLESS the above network connection is connected and sometimes it just reboots the computer with an IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL message. I have another PDA (medion) which doesnt have any bluetooth etc but it doesnt create a network connection when it is connected via usb like the a201... tbh, I am stumped!
I have installed activesynch 4.0 from the CD and the OS is XP home.
Any info greatly appreciated! |

Well I've not suffered any of the above problems and the a201 is superb.
By the way the latest version of Active Sync is 4.01
Get it here |

the mio 201 has had some problems at the moment. some units cannot load tomtom 5 or some other software. some retailers have this posted on there site. but they are not testing units prior to delivery so u can still end up with a bad one till a patch comes out. |

Ok sussed it - it was Kaspersky antivirus - it was crashing XP with a an error about klick.sys which is one of the AV's files. Uninstalled and put a real AV on and its fine.
With regards to TomTom - put on the 5.2x update and it works fine. |
