|
|
I have used a Mitac with tt3 for the last 6 months with no snags. However when upgrading to ttn5 I can load the software, however when I insert the maps CD I get a message "not enough free space on temproary folder - cannot run setup"
It does not seem to be a PC problem as I can run and install the maps from ttn3. The temporary folder exists on the pda, and is empty. However the software does not seem to notice this.
I have ditched everything on the pda and started from scratch, however the same problem keeps coming up.
If anyone out there can help I would really appreciate it.

Use a card reader to load the maps - its much faster and then you can select the exact directory you want the map to install to - you have probably by accident tried to install in excess of 100MB of map to a device that has far less memory than that required - mike |

This is actually a known problem with TTN5. Their suggested workaround is to copy the entire contents of the CD into a folder on your Hard Disk and then run setup from there.
I think they try to use the current folder as temporary space and of course that doesn't work too well on a CD-ROM.

Hi,
This is a common problem - if you go to the TomTom sight it will tell you how to remedy this problem - It is VERY easy to fix.
I had the same problem myself and could not find a solution on this forum.

The easiest way to get round this is remove the cd from the drive, then go to 'run' then type in %temp% delete the 'setup' file (tomtom) from this list using the delete button on your keyboard, once done you will be able to install the maps. |
