It carefully says you get a DVD with application and maps - no mention of activation code. It says no box or manuals. Note also that feedback is private, and that the seller changed his seller ID only two days ago. Does this product come on DVD? Mine came on CDs. also - I see the seller does not accept Paypal or credit cards - they want your money with no comeback under consumer credit laws if not as described. Items are only sent after cheques are cleared, making getting the money back very difficult for such small amounts.

It is quite possible that this seller spends a month or two selling genuine items (what as the feedback is secret - he may even be selling to himself under assumed names) to get a good feedback record, and then dumps a load of dodgy stuff before disappearing. Note also that all auctions appear to be the minimum of three days, and al lbuy it now - the idea is to make people rush into buying - longer auctions would give people time to think.

In all, well dodgy barge pole material.

Come on Steve, how could a product that has to be registered to work not require that if it was legal, no box, no manual, says it all really.

i know what the description means, but if it is genuine software would it be sold at that price?

Sounds dodgy to me, and if it isn't legal you wouldn't be able to register and use it.

Well, I think you can use it... Wink

But for £10, I'd have expected get the TT5.1 bug fix. Even people selling warez need to keep up Exclamation

"Genuine Deal
(ASIN: B0009PD3P0 Item model number: 1H50.082 )
NO CRACKS !"

The mentioned item number 1H50.082 is for the TTNav5 USA BT product (USA maps + app + BT GPS MkII).

The picture is from last year's MOWE box.

If this was really genuine, then you should get the MkII GPS as well, and the USA maps, not the UK and European maps, for sure not for 10,-

He has sold an awful lot of these - 58 so far, at a total price of £590. His postage and packing charge is high enough to cover the cost of postage and packing, plus the Ebay fees. So, once he has burnt 58 DVDs he is making well over £550 profit from piracy.

That should help cover some of his legal fees ;)

Surely not. Aren't profits gained from crime usually confiscated? Looks like he'll have to put his hand into his own pocket. :D

What a shame that TomTom don't do an upgrade from dodgy to legal like Microsoft currently do. It would be well worth risking the money for the minimum of a good discount!

Perhaps that should have been on the list of questions to TomTom.

Seems a little pricey to me, does it come with a cradle and a Bluetooth GPS receiver?

Noticed some legit copies of Tomtom 3, going for a song, on Ebay. Not a bad upgrade option for noobs like me!
