My PDA is a trusty old friend known as a:
Hewlet Packard Journada 548 series and runs Windows CE Version 3.0.9348 (build 9357).
It happily ran earlier versions of TomTom from V1 to V3.
I have just received the TT5 upgrade from TomTom but get the errors shown below when I try to install it via Active Synch.
Please could someone confirm whether TomTom have quietly retired support for my version of the PDA operating system?
Have I wasted my money on an upgrade that will not run on my older PDA or is there some backdoor way to install it?
I tried asking TomTom but just got a standard reply pointing to the list of supported devices.
TT5 Install error:
Uknown device Architecture
TomTom ~ Bluetooth support does not support the connected device type.
TomTom Voice Jane does not support the connected device type
Today ditto
Navigator Ditto
Contacts Ditto
I have monitored this forum both before ordering the upgrade and since and have not seen any posts that would indicate the TT5 no longer supports my device operating system.

It's not the operating system, it's the processor type. TTN5 only supports ARM processors. You need to return the product, get a refund, and get v3 reactivated. _________________ Lutz

Lutz, thanks for the rapid reply, looks like TomTom have lost me as a customer then, If only they had made that clear when I went through the order process. I ignored the supported device list as my Journada was never on there and as I said it ran all versions with no problems.
Do you know why TomTom have focused on ARM processors only?

yes, as of Pocket PC 2002 Microsoft have only supported ARM processors, so all "newer" Pocket PCs will automatically have to have that processor - as well as the smartphones. _________________ Lutz
