|
|
Hello friends,
I'm working on university project about GPS systems, involving writing an application for PocketPC receiving Lat/Lon (Geocentric) coordinates from the GPS device.
My question is: Is there a formula converting these coordinates from spheric to planary, so I can show the position on a plane raster map.
I appreciate any response, thanks in advance.
All the best,

then you simply apply your rectangular (planar) measurements. The map will be normalised for both Lat and Lon. _________________ Lutz

Thanks alot Mr. Bendlin.
Another question just came in my mind, what to do if I dont know the datum, is there a way to calibrate the map?
Is it proper to use control point with known lat/lon coordinates and calculate the distance between this point and the one to be displayed.
I think there should be a better solution to such problem.
All the best,
