Hi
I have some maps in Ozi explorer ozf2, and .map format, which I would rather use in Memory map. Can anyone tell me how to convert these to a format that Memory Map Navigator can import

Don't waste your time. MemoryMap does not accept other map formats. _________________ Lutz

Lutz,
Memory Map navigator will happily read *.png files, ready calibrated with an appropriate *.jpr file. You can export a *.png file from Ozi explorer, and convert the ozi *.map file to *.jpr with DRGMapCal.
I had just hoped there was an easier way!
(Memory map works best in landscape format, on my Pocket pc, which is why I would rather use that)

I thought MemoryMap is only accepting it's own map format. So have you now answered your own question? 8) _________________ Lutz

Hi Lutz,
Thanks for your thoughts, yes I have almost answered my own question, except for 'I had hoped there was an easier way' since I have about 150 map tiles which will take about 3 days by the long method!
I have also run into some problems with the map files resizing themselves (it appears) when I change the colour pallete to match memory map's requirements which I havn't got to the bottom of yet! I'l keep you posted

Hi all,
Now all done - I have the Michelin Road maps for the whole of France running on Memory Map, so that when I run off the 1:25 K maps, I can still see where I am. The resize problem seems to be that when ozi explorer exports a .png file, it does it at 80% scale relative to its coordinates in the . map file, so you have to resize them with a picture editor before you import both files into memory map

Any chance you could elaborate on how you convert from oziexplorer to memory map.
I saved the oziexplorer map to a .png then converted it to 256 colours.
Then I tried DRGmapCal to convert the map to a .jpr but i`m getting errors such as "grid convert error".
thanks

Hi Paul
Sorry for the delay.
Your best bet is to look in the help files that are linked from the DRG mapCal programme. You often find that you need to open the map in OziExplorer, and resave the .map file before you can be successful with DRG. Also for some types of grid, you need to have Oziexplorer API running whilst you use DRG MapCal to be successful, with some extra dll's loaded. Even then I have not yet been able to convert map files using the Suisse grid, but most others seem OK.
