Hello and
If you use a Bluetooth GPS, there's nothing stopping you wiring up a power supply for the GPS in car. Some mounts have such a Bluetooth GPS powering feature built in, but I'm not sure whether there's any MDA III mounts that do.

Thanks for the reply
I was looking at getting a Arkon CM745 with a ALTINA GBT708 BLUETOOTH or LATEST Leadtek HIGH Sensitivity Bluetooth GPS-XTRAC2 both gps's are around £60 so does anyone know which one is better or are they the same.
Also does anyone know if that mount will power these gps devices?
Grate website/forums really handy!
Oh any Happy New Year! |

i know the reply is a bit late, but i got the altina bt receiver....it is powered by a mini-usb cable to the receiver and a normal usb cable to the plug / cigar lighter - it comes with all the fittings, but doubt you can connect this to your mount.... |

The Altina unit I have has reliably worked for over ten hours without connection to the cars electrical system - on quite a number of occasions once I got it working with the 4700 (thanks to this forum) - considering the variaty of addapters supplied with the kit on the go charging is possible as well - to date I have been impessed by the units speed to lock on to signals and the compact size Vs battery life is nothing sort of incredible _ mike |
